Fiddler’s sits on the village green and calls itself “the home of whisky on Loch Ness”, with more than 500 whiskies behind the bar. The restaurant cooks with Scottish produce and serves lunch from 12.30 to 2.30pm and dinner from 5.30 to 8.30pm, according to its website in October 2026. It recommends booking, especially in summer, by phone (01456 450678), email or its online system, and prefers a call for same-day tables. Its Loch Ness Craft Bar and food truck, which serves draught beer, cocktails and fish and chips, is closed until Easter 2027. fiddledrum.co.uk
The inn in Lewiston has a restaurant and the Brewery Bar, which advertises Scottish whiskies and real ales. The menu changes with the seasons, and the inn names its suppliers: lamb, black pudding and haggis from Grants of Speyside, fish mostly from Peterhead and whole prawns from Applecross Bay. There are Sunday roasts and a breakfast menu. A Summer Menu 2026 is on its website. The inn advises reserving dinner in advance and books tables through OpenTable. It is a 20-minute walk from the green, or the Stagecoach 17 stops opposite. staylochness.co.uk
The hotel beside The Loch Ness Experience runs a refurbished cafe and bistro bar from 8am to 11pm, with breakfast from 8 to 11am. The cafe does sandwiches, paninis and home baking; Cobbs Pizza makes thin-crust pizza; there is Miele’s ice cream, and the lounge bar has craft beers, gins and malt whiskies. The chef adds nightly specials in the summer months. Handy if you are already at the exhibition or Nessieland next door. Cobbs food and drink
The Ness Deli is a licensed bistro and cafe on the village green, a minute from the main car park. Its own website, last updated in 2021, says it is “open all year round” and lists venison, a vegan chilli, burgers, homemade steak pie, traybakes and coffee, with breakfast from 10 to 11.30am and lunch until 3.30pm. Google showed it open until 4pm on 14 October 2026, with reviews from this summer. thenessdeli.wordpress.com
A cafe on the A82 in West Lewiston, at the southern end of the village. Its Facebook page listed opening hours of 9am to 3pm, Monday to Sunday, in October 2026, with dine-in and outdoor seating, and posted its summer menu in July. Convenient for the walk to Urquhart Castle, which is about half an hour further along the road. Cafe Eighty2 on Facebook
A tearoom on Drumbuie Farm, on the eastern edge of the village, where the baking is made from scratch and the coffee comes from Glasgow roaster Dear Green. Its website says “We are open for 2026”, Wednesday to Sunday; the page gives two different sets of hours, so check before going. The farm also runs bookable Highland cow experiences. drumbuiefarm.com

The Benleva Hotel in Kilmore, once a village pub, is not trading: its old web address now shows an unrelated gambling page and CAMRA lists the pub as closed long term. Ignore older guides that send you there.
Staying the night? The Drumnadrochit hotels guide says which beds are a short walk from these tables, and Drumnadrochit parking covers the car park by the green.
